Did you want responses via newsgroup or email? I can easily send both ways simply be changing the Newsgroups: line to a To: line and saving separately. > In your opinion, does living with asthma have a major effect on your quality
of life? why or why not? Yes, especially the difficulty getting adequate sleep, and limitations on freedom to travel. > In your opinion, does our health care system provide adequate resource for
people living with asthma? (e.g. emotional, financial, educational, medical…etc) No (I’m in the USA). My experience getting a decent medical diagnosis has been hit-or-miss, more often miss. Financially very problematic if one has no good insurance. > What do you thing about exercising with asthma?
Good idea, as much as feasible. > Do you think physiotherapy will help people living with asthma?

definitely major…not always negatively though > In your opinion, does our health care system provide adequate resource for > people living with asthma? (e.g. emotional, financial, educational, > medical…etc)
Canada’s?…I wouldn’t know…the UK is excellent on the medical side…and adequate on the financial side…though it is the ONLY life threatening chronic condition that is treated by regular medication that doesn’t allow sufferers to get free prescriptions the emotional side is just beginning to be looked at > What do you thing about exercising with asthma?
no problem unless you have EIA > Do you think physiotherapy will help people living with asthma?
depends…can you teach proper breathing?…a good set of breathing exercises is useful…a little extra "power" in reserve can be a life saver — eric www.ericjarvis.co.uk "I am a man of many parts, unfortunately most of them are no longer in stock"

For people who are able to get and maintain control of their asthma, there should be little or no effect on overall quality of life. By keeping my asthma under control I have virtually no physical impairment. >In your opinion, does our health care system provide adequate resource for >people living with asthma? (e.g. emotional, financial, educational, >medical…etc)
Generally yes. With reservations about the financial angle for those without insurance. >What do you thing about exercising with asthma?
Exercise is good for everybody. I am a National Guardsman who has be recalled to active duty and my unit is pursuing an aggressive physical fitness program as we suspect that we will be facing challenges in the future that will require better fitness than ‘Army standards.’ And at the end of the training sessions – I am gasping for breath no more than the other soldiers in my unit. >Do you think physiotherapy will help people living with asthma?
I am not aware of anything that physical therapy can really help. Asthmatics should exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle for the same reasons as everybody else. — "We are fighting today for security, for progress, and for peace, not only for ourselves but for all men, not only for one generation but for all generations. We are fighting to cleanse the world of ancient evils, ancient ills." Franklin Delano Rosevelt State of the Union Address – 1942
