Thank you Piotr. I am aware of Dajani’s article. I believe the first report of the possible association was Partridge MR, Gibson GJ: Adverse bronchial reactions to intravenous hydrocortisone in two aspirin-sensitive asthmatic patients. Br. Med. J. 1978; 1:1521. By 1985 there had been five cases of this association adequately investigated. I am interested to see that single case reports continue.      Larry

I had in 2001 also met two such cases in my practice, but I have not it published P. —- [http://www.am.torun.pl/~pekasz]

Hi I’m on Singulair, but that isn’t enough.  I’m not allergic to aspirin. I get really bad urticaria from the cortison. thanks

You really need to start publishing these things. It seems everytime that someone mentions something that is rare you have seen several cases in your practice. Are you, by any chance, a zebra farmer? — CBI, MD "Believe those who are seeking the truth; doubt those who find it." -Andre Gide

Just out of curiosity, Piotr, where did you learn that cortisone allergy might be associated with aspirin allergy?      Larry

Do you have allergic reaction on aspirine and aspirine-like drugs? The hypersensivity on cortison may be associated with aspirinic asthma. In this case other steroid – for instance fluticason can be used. Cross-reaction is not often P. —- [http://www.am.torun.pl/~pekasz]

Response:

long term – singular – i now sleep through the night and less likely to have attack when someone walks by that just bathed in perfume or aftershave. also my sister is on dry diskus inhaler that she says isn’t steroid. for attacks – i don’t have many of them so don’t know much.  good luck.

Hi During the last hospitalization they found out that I was allergic to both inhaled cortison and cortison pills.  They tried all different types of corticosteriods/cortison, and I always get urticaria from it.  I already know that I don’t tolerate pills or intraveneous cortison, but now I have developed an allergy against my inhalors(which is very frustrating). I do need to take it each day to keep my asthma under control. Any help? Thanks
