OK, I know I posted this a month ago, but I have been paying attention to my lungs.  It usually happens when I am doing well with my asthma.  Typically when I have been still for a good while, and I have been taking short breaths because I am lazy, I will get the problem.  It is always in the same place.  (right side a few ribs up)  It has been happening more often lately, (like one day 4 times)  and I have had the problem at least every day since that bad day. I probably should see a Dr., but I will wait for Bush to pass the cap on lawsuits against Dr.’s and the price of medical care to go down. :)  Or mabey next Jan, so I can use up my deductable early.  It seems like such a waste to use up my deductable in almost August.  Thanks for the insight. Now I feel like I know more about it.  Thanks. Xeno

Most likely that pain might be related with Gastric trouble. Do you notice gastric trouble when you have such a pain. Next time when this happens, try Pepto Bismol and see if it makes any difference. That will give you some clue. Thanks! Bharat

Have you had a CT scan to check for structural problems?  That could rule out any aspirated items and at the same time, determine if you have any had any airway remodeling.

Popped might be a poor discription.  When I full inhale, there isn’t anything but an abrupt end to the pain at almost the peak of the inhale.  It doesn’t feel like my lung is suddenly filling either. Also, when I full exhale there is no pain.  I just experiance the pain as I am filling my lungs.  I am similar to you in the fact that it really only happens when I am doing well. Do you notice it coming every once in a while also?  It is funny that you say that it happens on your right side, the last few times have been on my right side also.  A few ribs up from the base of my rib cage.  I say that the location of the pain is random, but like I also said, they happen so infrequently that I really only started to pay attention when I have had a few in the last month in a half. My lungs don’t feel like there is any sort of block there.  It feels like I can fully expand my lung there. Sorry to say this Pheobe, but I am glad that I am not alone in weird lung pains.  :) Xeno

I just have a quick question.  I am 26 and have had asthma since I was 10. I have a fairly mild case since after allergy shots I can manage my asthma by staying away from dust. Anyway, every once in a while I will get an acute pain in one of my lungs as I inhale.  It feels like my lungs are stuck together.  When I fully enhale it feels like they pop apart and the pain goes away.  The pain is seldom in the same spot although it has happend three times in the same spot in the last month and a half.  (Hense the post and why I am curious)  I have had this problem for probably 8 years. It happens every few months, or sometimes every few weeks.  Not enough to warrent bothering the Dr., but I was just curious if I was alone in feeling this.  I have taken so much medication since I was little to control my asthma, that I feel like this is a side effect of all of that medicine. Anyway, I was just wondering if anybody else had experianced this. Thanks!
